Provide leadership and direction for the management, identification, implementation and alignment of global sourcing strategies and supplier network capabilities for Secondary Packaging, molded Components and Metals spend categories in North America. Spend associated with these materials is approximately $95 million annually. Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies, and work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation. Identify, develop, and manage strategic business relationships and gain a comprehensive understanding of global business requirements. Evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources for new markets as business requirements dictate. Develop annual cost savings programs, lead sourcing initiatives and implement business strategies that directly affect company financials and growth plans and generate a minimum of 5% of spend in cost benefit annually. Build effective relationships both internal and external and interface with senior management as required. Manage the development and negotiation of supply agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives. Develop and lead global commodity strategies to ensure that the material supply is secured and where appropriate, develop supply risk mitigation programs. Prepare and provide monthly project management updates along with tracking key commodity feedstock's and material variances. This position reports to the Director of Commodity Management for Medical Supplies.
SCOPE OF DUTIES/
Job Description:
In-depth knowledge of packaging technology and processes.
Significant experience leading a complex, global manufacturing system.
Knowledge of quality & manufacturing particularly working experience with large manufacturers of finished and sterile products.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, assignments simultaneously and to operate in a matrix environment
Define strategies and be a strong partner with Medical Supplies Sourcing Supplier Management teams to help implement strategies at the business franchise level.
Understanding of lean manufacturing (e.g., pull systems, continuous improvement, 5s, etc.) preferred.
Works closely with Supplier Quality to monitor and resolve supplier issues in timely fashion.
Manages current Packaging suppliers, identify functional needs, collaborate with operations management team to map commodity strategies, and work with suppliers to negotiate and build appropriate agreements (STA, LTA, NDA's) to meet those needs.
Works with sourcing supplier management team to execute strategies related to sites operational plan deployment.
Research and understand cost drivers of relevant commodity markets and recommend strategies including forward buy, hedge, price locks etc for improving the overall supply chain value proposition.
Prepares and presents project updates, commodity trends and material variance reports to the leadership.
Working closely with Sourcing Supplier management team to manage key sourcing metrics and report outs including sole source reduction, LCC expansion, PPV and deflation.
Translate GBU/Sector requirements into actionable sourcing strategies that drive and sustain supply assurance.
Lead cross-functional teams in order to drives key strategic sourcing, risk mitigation and quality initiatives, creates value in the supply chain, leads sites specific supplier negotiations, supplier development and provides project management facilitation of supplier related projects.
Leads discussions on commercial supply of new materials and establishes commodity strategies to support New Product Development projects.
Identify and drive cost savings projects. Develop budget standards for assigned commodities.
Build alignment with GBU management and manufacturing facilities.
Work closely with Director of Commodity Management to ensure supply agreements are in place and compliance is maintained.

REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Polymers, Engineering, Finance or related technical field. Masters' degree preferred.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree with 5
years related business experience required or Master's degree with experience in Purchasing, Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing or Supply Chain Management.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office, Power Point and MS Project programs
Must have exceptional analytical skills to adequately analyze and interpret complex business situations.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must be self-motivated and have proven leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate and have problem solving skills.
Must have excellent organizational, project management skills to be able to prioritize & delegate tasks effectively and be able to work with little or no supervision.
Must possess the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication and presentation skills. .
Experience and proven experience and effectiveness in leading cross-functional teams.
Must have experience in a highly technical & regulated industry.
The candidate for this position will have several years of proven experience in Supplier Management in a Lean operations environment.
Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of supply chain management, sourcing and commodities.
Must possess negotiation skills and excellent teamwork/facilitations skills.
Experience in project management, new product introduction, stage-gate process and understanding of product lifecycle management.
Travel up to 25% may be required.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
MBA preferred.
Six Sigma Green Belt.
Manufacturing & Medical experience preferred.
Certification from the Institute of Supply Management (C.P.M.), Project Management
