Under moderate supervision, performs a combination of the following tasks to load, unload, and move material and parts in and around the manufacturing facility. Responsible for the accuracy of inventory and may oversee the receiving of inventory and make required transactions into various inventory control programs. May make recommendations on inventory adjustments. May be assigned to a specific work center or work centers within the manufacturing operation. May train other employees.
Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Fills requisitions, work orders, requests for materials or other stock items and distributes items to production workers.
2. Assembles orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or moves orders to packing station, shipping department or trailers.
3. Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to identify items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
4. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands together in preparation for movement.
5. Loads/unloads materials to or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves manually, by hoist or forklift.
6. Marks materials with identifying information.
7. Moves materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas by hand, hand truck or forklift.
8. Loads materials onto vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
9. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined locations.
10. May be assigned additional responsibilities as necessary to support the manufacturing and distribution operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and basic understanding of inventory management and distribution software.
Knowledge of basic warehouse, shipping and receiving operations.
Knowledge of basic math and computer data entry.
Able to perform basic measurements using tape measure and other measuring devices.
Able to operate a forklift and handtruck.
Able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
Able to train others.
Able to wear personal protective equipment.
Able to work overtime and/or including weekends as production schedules dictate.
Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or GED required with 1-3 years of previous shipping, receiving, warehouse or material handling experience; preferably in a metal manufacturing production environment.
Working Conditions:
Work performed in a non-climate controlled metal manufacturing production environment, with frequent standing, twisting, bending, stooping, and climbing in and around metal fabricated parts. Frequent lifting, pushing or pulling of 50 pounds alone and 100> pounds with assistance. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to identify required parts and operate production equipment (i.e. forklift, handtruck, etc.).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
