Devereux's Mapleton Program, located in Malvern PAis seeking Full-Time 1:1 School Support Counselors to work 7am-3pm Mon - Fri. This position will work one-on-one with an individual.
As a 1:1 Counselor, you would be responsible for providing quality care and motivation to individuals along with maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment.
The duties include, but not limited to:
1. Applying approved behavior management techniques designed to encourage appropriate social behavior.
2. Serving as a positive role model by providing an example for acceptable behavior, language, and dress, while effectively utilizing level system and/or individualized treatment strategies developed by the treatment team.
3. Providing direct supervision of assigned individual during on and off school programming. Takes responsibility for the whereabouts, safety and general welfare of the individual at all times. Follows routine and increased supervision protocols. Utilizes and completes client accountability sheets.
4. Utilizing appropriate and approved therapeutic interactions skills with individual in accordance with the New Directions Modules, specifically, Building Relationships, Listening, Praising Effectively, Making Requests, and Leading Activities. Quarterly training is completed by the due date.
5. Utilizing crisis physical intervention techniques appropriate to the degree of threat to the safety of the individual and others and in accordance with Devereux Safe and Positive Approaches (SPA) standards.
6. Observing, documenting, and reporting to the appropriate supervisor, noticeable changes in individual's behaviors and/or health conditions.
7. Assisting with class work and provides supervision during testing. May assist in correcting student papers/tests.

Devereux PA Children's Behavioral Health Services operates several locations throughout Chester and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania. Our innovative services specialize in the treatment of children, teenagers, and young adults with emotional and psychological challenges ages 4 to 21. We offer a contemporary continuum of mental health care including an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital, Residential Treatment Facilities and an Approved Private School.
Pay for this position: $11-12.10 - with Associates and/or 12 credits in Human Services or $11.88 - $13.07/hr with Bachelors and 12 credits in HumanServices.

Education and
Experience:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program in an area of human services, which includes, sociology, psychology, criminal justice, etc. AND one (1) year of human service experience OR two (2) years of direct care experience and a high school diploma or GED plus 12 semester credit hours in sociology, psychology, criminal justice, special education, etc. from an approved educational program.
The IDEAL candidate willBe empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model. Additionally, you must be able to complete eight days of new hire orientation class, have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs and possess a valid license.
Physical Requirements:Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
Work Environment:Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Use of Protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, and gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of Safe and Positive Approaches.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
