SAS Administrator with Pharmaceutical / CRO Experience needed for a 7
month contract in Northern, NJ. Candidate will need to work full-time, on-site as the primary SAS Administrator for their new SAS 9.4 GRID, CDI and other existing 9.2 and 9.3 SAS Foundation tools environments. The GRID environment is Unix and Linux, Virtual-based. Other Foundation tools are on Windows.
The Consultant must have 3
years experience managing and administering a SAS GRID environment. (Experience managing SAS CDI Clinical Data Integration would be very helpful, but is less critical than GRID.)
The Consultant must also have 3
years experience working within a Pharmaceutical companys SAS FDA-Validated environment (e.g., IQ/OQ/PQ, etc.).
Our client currently has a Development SAS 9.4 GRID environment, and is in the process of implementing a Production and Validated environment in late 2014 / early 2015. Once implemented, the Consultant will represent the lead SAS Administrator for all environments.
Responsibilities:
Provide maintenance and support for SAS products during deployment, upgrade and any changes to SAS products and/ or during other enterprise activities that impact SAS infrastructure.
Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical end-user support related to SAS Administration that includes SAS components such as SAS GRID, SAS CDI, SAS 9.4 Foundation tools.
Proactively monitor and tune SAS systems to ensure optimum level of performance.
Manage the configuration support and maintenance of the platform for SAS GRID.
Oversee, recommend and implement appropriate solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in SAS system reliability and performance.
Monitor usage logs to assist in performance tuning of the SAS systems and servers
Create Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) documentation and ensure alignment to overall SDLC and Change Management, Release management and Configuration processes.
Interface directly with various IT functional areas as it pertains to SAS Administration.
Perform installation, upgrade and configuration of SAS technology products on supported server environments.
Monitor the overall availability and performance of the current SAS technology server environments and take corrective actions as necessary to insure peak operational performance.
Related to SAS administration support, Consultant will be responsible for providing SAS technical support to end users and implementing new SAS technical solutions.
Skills Required / Preferred:
Experience and/or certification in SAS platform administration
3
years of experience in SAS GRID administration, (ideally with SAS CDI as a strong benefit)
5
years of experience with SAS product Suite 9x, including PC SAS, SAS/STAT, SAS/Graph, SAS/Connect, SAS/Access products
3
years of experience Administering SAS product suite. (Required)
Strong analytical, communication, technical teamwork and interpersonal skills are mandatory.
Ability to research and recommend technical designs and architectures to support requirements.
Work on various IT and business projects to meet needs of the customers.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Strong working knowledge of UNIX / Linux / Windows environments and shell scripting.
Must be client service-driven with excellent communication, relationship management and analytical skills
Ability to work and contribute in a team environment.
Ability to perform tasks proactively with minimal supervision.
Experience with systems in a Pharmaceutical (FDA-validated) environment
Education:
Bachelor's Degree/Masters Degree in the field of Computer Science or equivalent.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
