Contractor Supervisor

Our client is in need of an experienced Contractor Supervisor. This position will ensure the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound performance of the earthworks contractors under contract at client's Virginia operations. Duties include but are not limited to translating mine planes into the day to day operation of the contractor on the mine site with assistance from the Site Superintendent, Mine Planning Engineers, and Earthmoving Contractor; Ensure and maintain compliance to mine planning design and profile standards; Supervise the mining contractor to achieve a safe working environment and exceed production targets; Provide effective leadership to drive a high performance culture; Mentor and coach team members in achieving maximum productivities of surface mobile mining equipment; Provide practical input into the mining plan in order to achieve maximum productivity and; Coordinate required activities that utilize contractor resources for erosion and sediment control, road maintenance and other various day to day activities.
Qualifications:
HS/GED
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Mining Supervisor in an open pit environment.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the mining or heavy construction industry.
Experience in both production and reclamation of mining operations.
Certified DMME Mine Foreman.
Ability to develop and manage good working relationships with internal departments (production, planning and development, logistics, accounting), contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and customers.
Proven application of skills and knowledge in mining and processing plant environments.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Advanced computer skills MS Office. SAP a plus.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
