Digital Marketing Services (DMS) has a crucial role to play in enabling Unilever's digital marketing strategy. Our ambition is to be the best marketing company in the world. To enable this strategy and Unilever's digital ambition the DMS organisation is expanding to a global organization. DMS was then given the remit to forge strategic partnerships with leading edge digital media suppliers and agencies and asked to deliver best in class services and IT platforms to drive efficiency and simplification, join up activities and improve digital planning, execution and measurement.
As a member of the DMS team the Analyst Plan and Manage is responsible for supporting the business processes and related IT solutions (together with the Manager Program Planning, Innovation and Business representatives) within their area of responsibility.
The position's main duties are to gain consensus on technology and process concepts, to build coalitions and to identify priorities in order to move technology and process improvement forward. This includes supporting the vision agreed for the business technology while supporting the process benefits and working through challenges
In the area of Digital Marketing Services, this position is responsible for providing consultancy on the use of technology for the digital component of brand Marketing plans. The areas of concentration in program planning include support of all media channels including direct mail, email marketing, web sites, microsites, online display advertising, social, mobile and search. This position is responsible for providing consultancy or advice on digital program planning, execution, and analysis. The DMS Analyst Plan and Manage will work jointly with Marketing to develop and review regional digital agency rosters. At a minimum, this role will vet external proposals from agencies or other third parties and provide advice to brands on best practice, Unilever standards, consumer privacy and security. When digital services are provided internally by Digital Marketing Services, or through their suppliers, this role will be responsible for project management and service delivery to the brands in coordination with other personnel in Digital Marketing Services. Program Planning, in conjunction with the Director Digital Marketing Services, are the primary owners of the relationship with the brands in support of Digital Marketing.
This role will not have direct organizational reports, but may be assigned to lead projects of medium size and medium to high complexity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine requirements, and specify effective business processes. Organizes their implementation through improvements in information systems, data management, practices and, organization.
Applies and monitors the use of required modeling and analysis tools, methods and standards in an intelligent and effective way.
Co-operates with senior client and IT staff as required, supporting investigations at a high level for strategy studies, requirements specifications and feasibility studies. Maintains technical awareness at a level where alternatives can be analysed, modelled and classified according to technical feasibility and performance.
Utilizes business experience and skills to assess and advise on the practicability of alternatives, marrying up technical limitations with operational realities.
Takes responsibility as needed for the detailed specification and modeling of recommended solutions using resources, standards, methods and tools as required. Maintains links with appropriate counterparts within both software engineering and service delivery functions and plays a full part in bringing systems to implementation as detailed by organization policies and methods.
Applies available standards, methods and tools in an intellignt and effective way, and produces a consistently high standard of documentation of both a technical and a descriptive nature.
Supports the definition of plans and helps to justify (in business terms) projects to develop/implement automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes.
Assists clients/users in defining acceptance tests for automated systems, and takes responsibility for their proper execution.
Supports the evaluation and approval/rejection of local requirements for a process variation - where a dispensation may be required for regional purposes
To oversee portions of technology and process improvement activities (External and internal orientation)
Supports the coordination with Business Partnering to translate required multi-country Business demands into regional technology and processes
To liaise with other IT Business partners to clarify needs and deliver innovation solutions to their functions
To support the consultation and influencing the main Stakeholders on benefits and impacts of processes and technology transformation
To assure the business is aware of implemented capabilities, and to seek opportunities for benefit maximization (usability, exploitation).
Reinforce IT governance Propose streamline activities for IT technologies and processes and work to eliminate redundancy. Coordinate with Business Partnering to set up methodologies that enable the business to easily adopt new and existing solutions
Knowledge Transfer to running organization or relevant support model Level 1 and level 2 application support. Assist Campaign Services, Hosting, Program Operations and 3rd party
suppliers in the areas of level 3 and level 4 support.
Key Requirements
Degree from a recognized accredited college or equivalent level of education if not an IT Professional with 3 - 5 years of IT Digital Marketing domain experience in a complex business environment. Digital agency experience a plus. Knowledge of associated business processes in this space. Experience in data management and application integration Strong consultation, interpersonal and influencing skills. Developing & Executing Communication Plans In-Market - Working Knowledge of: Adopting, adapting, originating integrated brand communication executions to meet local media, language & legal requirements whilst at all time maintaining the campaign idea. Using campaigns to enhance the brands 'always-on' presence, achieving the brand/category objectives desired. Experience in change management.
