Wells Fargo's Funds Management Group (FMG) is seeking a Lead Analytics Consultant to support and assist with critical business reporting needs.The candidate will work as part of a Business Intelligence Team (BRT) that is responsible and accountable for the creation, maintenance, and support of the BI environment within FMG.
As part of their duties, a qualified candidate will:
Evaluate and enhance current BRT reporting processes by documenting process and dimension overlaps, identifying areas of improvement/consolidation and successfully implement new processes.
Consult with business partners to identify and define business requirements and translate needs into complex report designs and analysis recommendations.
Have strong business sense and communication skills to interact seamlessly with FMG business partners and serve as a liaison with IT in support of critical BI needs.
Understand specific mutual fund distribution structures and related data flows between critical source systems and to develop and support critical data hierarchies for business reporting.
Have a thorough understanding of and ability to work independently within a Cognos reporting environment.
Create and maintain detailed documentation for the BI architecture, policies, procedures, and standards; ensure these policies, procedures, and standards meet necessary compliance requirements and follow FMG and/or Wells Fargo policy.
Build reporting solutions that can be integrated into (SFDC), delivered via remote devices like iPad or standalone output, primarily by using the Cognos suite of products against an FMG Data Warehouse.
Provide training and technical assistance as a subject matter expert for less experienced staff and business partners.
Support ad-hoc report requests for reporting analysis and data issue investigation.
Combine superior analytic and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and relationship management to discover and present key findings associated with complex analysis in a way that influences decision making.
Develop an innate understanding of the data and information displayed on the reports and the lineage to source systems to readily respond to business partner questions.
Candidate should own relationships and function as a Subject Matter Expert in the areas of data analysis and reporting.
Basic
Qualifications: 10
years reporting and analytical experience or a minimum of a Masters degree in programs such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics or computer sciences with 5
years related industry experience. CFA or CPA preferred.
Minimum
Qualifications:
10
years in a data analysis or analytics role, researching data in order to influence business decisions
Relationship building and the ability to drive decision making through a consensus-building approach.
7
years Business Intelligence reporting and delivery architecture experience.
Standard and advanced reporting experience using relational and OLAP sources
Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to quickly recognize and resolve problems.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously.
Basic level and understanding of SQL code.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to acquire new concepts and skills quickly.
Preferred Skills:
Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent discipline
Detailed understanding of relational database models, and experience/expertise using data warehouse concepts.

years experience creating scorecards/dashboards using Cognos products, preferably with Cognos 10.2 or higher. (Other Cognos products may include Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Cognos Workspace, Cognos Workspace Advanced, Cognos Insight)
Previous experience developing complex reports using Cognos relational models, DMRs and MDX coding functions against Cubes
Ability to create tables and perform complex tables in an Oracle environment using PL/SQL
Previous experience performing predictive analysis
Experience developing detailed reports using SAS (Base SAS, Enterprise Miner, etc)
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Asset Management (Mutual Fund) industry experience
Mobile Reporting is a plus
Expertise with creating procedures for standards and consistency for reporting solutions
