SUMMARY
Provide field technical support for ORTEC products in all territories, including possible international territories, for both pre- and post-sale customer needs in the use of gamma and alpha spectroscopy equipment.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provide worldwide expert technical and applications support for ORTEC electronics, gamma, alpha, and in-situ spectroscopy software, and gamma, alpha, and in-situ detector systems in person at customer sites and over the telephone
Provide direct technical and applications support for service contracts and extended warranties which involve customer on-site support.
Provide on-site installation and training support for ORTEC products.
Identify new sales and service opportunities.
Assist in the development and preparation of product quotations to customers.
Write detailed technical responses to customer RFP and RFQ pointing out relevant features of ORTEC product offering versus the specification.
Author and review application notes
Assist in the development and presentation of product and applications training for customers as well as for ORTEC employees.
Provide input from customer interactions to relevant internal organizations such as R&D;, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Marketing.
Maintain customer inquiry information in the tracking database.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science Degree, Masters Degree preferred, Minimum 5 years experience in nuclear industry, preferably in a production counting laboratory.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Position Requirements
Travel is an essential requirement of this position and 50-70% of time will be travel related. Domestic USA travel will dominate, but the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to obtain a passport as International travel will also be required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
