Job Description and
Responsibilities:
The candidate will perform reference flow development for the Cadence Encounter ASIC toolset.
In this position, you will be a part of the Centralized Design Automation Operations team CDAO working on the development and support of next generation IC design flows for analog, digital and/or full custom circuits. As a CAD Engineer in the team, you will be required to assume key role in the development of these design flows for multiple engineering customers Internal or external using industry standard EDA software such as Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys, etc.
Education Level:
Candidate should have a MSEE with 8 years of experience.
Required Skills:
- The behavioral skills, knowledge in Windows / UNIX, scripting, and HPC workload management are more important.
- The skills in EDA / CAD are important, but not as much.
- At least eight years of experience in IC design or Computed Aided Design CAD.
- Strong UNIX AND Windows Server knowledge and experience with data management / version control software is expected.
- Expertise with High Performance Computing HPC workload management systems Platform ISF, Sun Grid.
- Fluency in C++, UNIX shell scripting, Perl, SKILL, Windows
- VBScript. Experience with various Electronic Design Automation EDA software, flows, and architecture.
- Solid understanding of integrated circuit IC simulation tools and related methodologies.
- Knowledge of front-to-back IC design flows with focus on analog/mixed-signal solutions.
- Expertise with Cadence DFII environment such as Schematic Composer and virtuoso layout editor.
- Direct industry experience with Cadence, Synopsys, Agilent EEsof, and/or Mentor tools would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with multiple CAD flows: custom and digital both front end and back end would be an advantage.
- Understanding of Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor CMOS processing,
- Very large Scale Integration VLSI design, and semiconductor device physics.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and develop quick engineering solutions for complex problems.
- Ability to interface with engineers and managers by providing schedule updates and roadmap plans.
- High problem solving capacity and good tolerance for ambiguity able to prioritize tasks independently.
- Natural focus on quality, discipline, and accurate results for engineering customers.
Responsibilities:
- Experience using the Cadence EDI Auto-Place-and-Route tool and writing TCL flows to operate the tool.
- Need experience with ASIC flows including synthesis, auto-place-and-route, static timing analysis, and physical verification.
- Experience writing EDI tech files would be a nice-to-have.
