Large non-profit based healthcare organization based in MD seeks Accounts Payable Manger for temp-to-perm career opportunity. This role will oversee the day-to-day accounts payable processing operations and manage 5 staff. In addition, this role will assist with a financial systems conversion. Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager that can lead an organization.

Position
Responsibilities:
Reviews A/P invoices and expense reports to insure that they are properly coded and authorized
Reviews and approves all checks and vouchers
Creates internal A/P Aging Schedule for use by management
Ensures that all documents are well organized and information is readily available for inquiries from internal and external sources
Performs maintenance to the A/P system as required
Resolves disputes, discrepancies and uncertainties concerning accounts payable invoices and payments
Establishes written and/or oral communication channels with the facilities so that the needs of the facilities are met pertaining to accounts payable issues
Supervises monthly closing of the accounts payable records and ensures all transactions generated from the A/P module are uploaded to the General Ledger system
Maintains all documents related to accounts payable function, insuring that they are kept according to all audit and governmental requirements
Serves as primary liaison between A/P department and external auditors.
Supervises the accounts payable function and provides staff support in all areas of the Department
Delegates to, and monitors the A/P clerks' duties to insure accuracy and deadlines
Supervises five (5) A/P Clerks and one (1) Data Control Clerk
Reviews and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of accounts payable function and of subordinates
Calculates and disburses state sales and use tax monthly, where applicable
Prepares and releases 1099's annually
Completes special projects or assignments in a timely manner, as assigned

Position Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (B.S) from a recognized college or university in Accounting, Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a closely related field. A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in Accounts Payable or a closely related field. Supervisory or management experience preferred
Previous experience with computerized accounting systems, specific experience with implementation of new systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on strong Excel spreadsheet skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
