Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of excellence in carrying out clinical studies in psychiatric populations. The successful candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills, a history of independent funding from external sources e.g. state, federal or foundation support and relevant peer reviewed publications.
Duties DescriptionThe Director, Clinical Research will assume responsibility for supporting child, adolescent and adult clinical research and will assume leadership for core facilities devoted to clinical research at NKI. These core facilities include the Clinical Research and Evaluation Facility (CREF) and the Outpatient Research Department (ORD). The CREF unit is a 24 bed inpatient facility jointly operated with Rockland Psychiatric Center. Protocols involve both evaluative and interventional studies of chronic mental disorders among adults with psychotic disorders. Areas of concentration include aggression, cognition and psychopathology.
The Outpatient Research Department (ORD) is utilized by multiple investigators and research programs at NKI. The ORD maintains a Volunteer Recruitment pool which refers pre-screened and assessed subjects to investigators and programs. It also assists investigators at multiple levels of service from recruitment, medical procedures, and assessments to IRB assistance and preparation.
The Director, Clinical Research will, in collaboration with Institute leadership, develop and implement a strategic plan for clinical research; obtain and expand external funding for research; expand existing capabilities; mentor junior faculty and residents and enhance NKI's community outreach efforts.

Each case will be determined on its own merits, consistent with the applicable provisions of State and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Prospective employees will be fingerprinted in order to obtain a record of their criminal history information, and may be required to pay any necessary fees. 3) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees may be required to pay any necessary fees. Additionally, prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
