FACULTY POSITION - Carpentry Technology. Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology announces an opening for a full-time, tenure track, 9 month faculty position in Carpentry Technology. Faculty work load includes teaching 22 contact hours per week, holding 3 office hours per week, and participating in college professional activities. This faculty member will teach all second year Carpentry courses including Floor, Wall, and Roof Construction, Insulation, Drywall Installation, Stair Trim, and Residential Remodeling. In addition, the faculty member will supervise students during their house construction project. Minimum requirements include a baccalaureate degree, or an associate with an obligation to complete an appropriate baccalaureate degree within five years of employment. The candidate must also possess a minimum of 5 current years of construction work experience, some teaching experience, a solid understanding of building codes and the modern carpentry industry, experience working as a member of a team, demonstrated success working with diverse populations, under-resourced groups, and first-generational students. Salary and rank for the position is determined on the basis of academic preparation and experience as projected on the Faculty Association contract.
