About the Position
Reporting to the President & COO, the Director of Commercial Lines Marketing will be responsible for all aspects of new business underwriting and quoting for the retail sales team.
Specific duties of the Director of Commercial Lines Marketing will include:
Quoting of all new business & key renewals for the sales and service teams
Daily interaction with the sales and service teams related to quotes and proposals and other company and marketing related functions
Policy coverage analysis for prospects' existing insurance program versus what has been quoted for renewal
Tracking overall new business goals with insurance company partners and responsibility for achieving all set goals set
Assisting retail producers to reach their sales goals by providing them with necessary information and proposals to effectively close new prospects
Interacting daily with the Senior Vice President on carrier relations matters
Building and maintaining positive relationships with Telamon's underwriters and insurance company partners
Attending insurance company events, as needed
Communicating changes within the insurance marketplace to the internal staff (e.g., internal staff changes, Insurance Company industry targets, promotions, coverages, etc.)
Coordinating new business workflows and proposals with processing team
Utilizing agency management system to accurately and timely update accounts and issue Binders
Client On-Boarding between marketing team and service team
Developing and maintaining internal procedures for the retail marketing of new business and strategic renewal business
Attending meetings as required (e.g., insurance company meetings, internal marketing meetings, after hours company events, etc.)
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in related discipline
5-7 years directly related account management work experience in a sales, marketing or customer service position which includes responsibility for maintaining insurance client relationships
Advanced insurance designation. (e.g., CIC, CPCU)
Technical industry knowledge
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
Ability to work cross-functionally within the organization and with external channel partners
Ability and initiative to work independently
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and multi-tasking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
