Summary:
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.
This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standards and best practices. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life cycle.
This individual is accountable for the following systems:
Windows systems that support the existing infrastructure and the operations, support, maintenance and research/development to ensure continual innovation.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day systems/network support Hardware setup, configuration and administration of Windows server/client installations, EMC storage or other NAS solutions, fiber Switches (Brocade), VMWare ESX or similar Network support for F5 load balancers and Cisco gear Administration of Active Directory environment On-call support rotation
Qualifications/Requirements:
Production support of complex Windows based infrastructure (3
years) Windows 2003 Server installation & configuration (3
Years) Active Directory administration and configuration (3
Years) Technology consulting experience, worked at a customer site location, good verbal, written and listening skills Requires a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience Requires occasional lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds Team player ability to work closely with others
Educational Requirements:
Four (4) year college degree or equivalent related working experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
