Job Description: This is a permanent, part-time position eligible for anticipated full employer contribution towards insurance benefits.
The Skills Development Specialist (SDS) is responsible for assessing Individual?s needs, developing and implementing group day habilitation and training plans (lesson plans) for assigned Individuals with goals and methods, communicating with team members and other agencies, evaluating and documenting outcomes, and maintaining or modifying the plan and performing related work as required. The SDS uses their professional expertise and training to develop and monitor programs for the Individuals assigned and use that knowledge to contribute to department wide program development and design.
Minimum
Qualifications: To qualify, you must:
To meet the requirements for a Designated Coordinator (DC) at least two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or related conditions AND a two-year degree in a related human services field or a diploma in community-based developmental disability services from an accredited post-secondary institution
Knowledge of:
-Supervisory principles sufficient to motivate and guide employees
-Behavior modification principles sufficient to plan and design vocational program strategies for assigned individuatls
-Health care and safety needs sufficient to ensure that needs of assigned patients are met
-Adaptive and social skills development principles sufficient to design and implement appropriate program strategies
-Developmental Disabilities sufficient to design, recommend, and implement effective program plans
-Fine and gross motor skill development sufficient to design and implement vocational and pre-vocational skill programs
-Medications and medication control procedures sufficient to identify behavioral problems related to medications
-Assessment instruments and principles sufficient to develop valid, reliable measures of residents' needs and progress -Planning principles sufficient to ensure that an integrated program of daily activities is developed to meet individual program requirements and goals
Ability to:
-Motivate and guide employees
-Communicate effectively, orally and in writing to provide the members of the treatment team with common understanding of treatment goals and implementation methods
-Develop a schedule of activities to ensure that resources are used effectively in implementing programs in accordance with plans
-Consistently apply principles in assessing resident behavioral deficits,
excesses and progress in achieving treatment goals
-Minnesota issued Driver's License.

Reference/background checks - The Department of Human Services will conduct reference checks to verify job-related credentials and criminal background check prior to appointment.
Requires a Class D Driver's License: a single unit vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of less than 26,000 pounds. This is a basic driver's license. Operators may also tow vehicles/trailers as long as the a gross combination weight does not exceed 26,000 pounds.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
