We seek creative and inventive engineers with leadership potential to fill a #2 role at our key facility located in Crossett, Arkansas, employing about 100 people. This role will allow you to hone your supervisory and managerial skills.
Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities will include safety performance, compliance, production, quality, and cost control. The position reports to the Plant Manager and will work closely with the consolidated organization's Safety, Environmental, Maintenance, Controller, Trucking and Continuous Improvement leaders to achieve and maintain 10,000% compliance(TM) (100% of employees complying 100% of the time) & strive for operations excellence.
Key Job Expectations:
Continue to drive the safety culture at the facility to achieve zero accidents. Continue to improve safety performance through utilization of job hazard analysis, safe work permitting, behavior based safety, root cause analysis, housekeeping and training.
Have a strong understanding of Process Safety Management/RMP requirements. Maintain and improve plant process safety information, support and participate in process hazard analysis. Oversee development, review and improvement of standard operating procedures. Review management of change, authorize start-ups utilizing pre-startup safety review procedures, oversee and conduct process training, and conduct & follow-up on incident investigations.
Direct leadership of production supervisors
Oversee all aspects of the operation including raw material ordering, production scheduling, and turn-arounds.
Lead and develop employees to improve their capabilities and personal performance using Market Based Management Principles.
Lead Operational Excellence efforts in the areas of production efficiencies, product yield, operating costs and product quality.
Work with R&D to modify or produce new products.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors of Science degree in a technical field is required, chemical / mechanical engineering preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience is required.
Experience in a Process Safety Management covered facility is preferred.
Supervisory experience in chemical or refinery is preferred.
Batch and continuous chemical processing knowledge is preferred.
