Penn State Berks, a growing college of The Pennsylvania State University located in suburban Reading, is seeking to fill a tenure-track appointment in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology starting August 2015.
Biochemistry is part of the Division of Science which currently offers several B.S. degrees: Biology (General Biology and Genetics & Developmental Biology options), Biochemistry (Biochemistry or Molecular Biology options), Kinesiology (Exercise Science Option), and Science (General Science and Life Science option). These degrees allow students interested in science to remain at Berks for all four years. The College graduates 30-35 science students per year. Penn State Berks places student learning as its central mission with increasing attention to first-year seminars, a common reading program, communication across the curriculum, undergraduate research, and learning communities. The College is characterized by its commitment to pedagogies and instructional technologies that actively engage students in their education and encourage them to take increasing responsibility for learning.
Responsibilities:
The position involves teaching biochemistry laboratory and lecture as well as other courses that fit within the needs of the college and the candidate's expertise. The biology, biochemistry, and chemistry faculty work collaboratively to enhance learning for all students and frequently rotate the courses taught among all members of the faculty. The position requires a program of original research publishable in peer-reviewed journals that will involve undergraduate students in the research enterprise. An ideal candidate will possess a willingness to create and deliver hybrid and online courses and to be involved in the growth of the biochemistry degree. Service to the college, the community, and the profession is expected.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
