The Lead Clinical Support Specialist (LCSS) is responsible for the team of Clinical Support Specialists (CSS) that support the teams reporting up to an individual Clinical Quality Manager. The CSS team provides administrative and basic technical support to the clinical abstraction teams. The LCSS will supervise and support the CSS team and assist the Quality Operations Manager (QOM) as needed.
Manage and support the daily operation of the CSS team that provides administrative support and communication to assigned abstraction teams;
Work with Quality Managers to ensure all administrative support needs are being met by the CSS team;
Responsible for coordinating and monitoring the progress of any projects assigned to the CSS team by management. Ensure the assigned project is completed timely and notify the QOM of completion or as directed;
Notify the QOM of any obstacles within the CSS team. The LCSS is responsible for keeping the team functioning effectively and efficiently;
Identify opportunities for administrative/operational support improvement, develop and document a plan, and implement the new procedures to streamline CSS processes;
Monitor and provide oversight of the on-boarding process for newly hired abstractors;
Establish contacts in other departments for escalations and provide direction to resolve associate issues escalated by the CSS team;
Meet with CSS team individually, complete monthly assessments, and communicate results to the QOM;
Monitor the effectiveness of the CSS staff. Ensure communication is positive and professional and that best practices are utilized. Update Standard Operating Procedures as appropriate;
Provide continuing education to CSS team when necessary. Identify areas for improvement and associate development;
Assist in the creation, design and production of management reports utilizing various software applications (e.g. MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
Ensure that the CSS team is provided information to roll-out corporate initiatives to the abstraction teams and monitor the progress of deliverables as necessary;
Monitor progress reporting to ensure completion and accuracy, look for overall departmental trends.
Associate's Degree or equivanent experience;
Some technical training or background preferred;
Proven ability to work independently, required;
Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience;
Strong organizational skills;
Intermediate computer skills;
Ability to meet deadlines;
Detail oriented, ability to multi-task and make sound decisions both timely and independently; and
Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and telephone communication skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
