Description
Client is seeking a Manager, Technical Accounting & Research to perform and direct accounting and SEC reporting research, and to oversee the Company's Financial Policies & Procedures. This position requires a strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, as well as good communication skills and a desire to work with financial and business personnel worldwide across multiple industries.
Primary Responsibilities
Consult with and management relationships with operating and finance personnel at corporate and at business units related to accounting questions and the implementation of financial policies and procedures at various levels within the worldwide organization
Work closely with other corporate departments such as Tax, Legal, Corporate Accounting and various financial reporting teams in the preparation of the Company's SEC filings (10-Q/10-K) and disclosures
Work closely with senior management in the development, revision and maintenance of the Company's Financial Policies & Procedures
Assist in technical accounting and SEC reporting research and document the Company's conclusions in technical whitepapers on matters such as stock-based compensation, revenue recognition, derivatives, segment reporting, impairment, equity-method investees, acquisitions and discontinued operations
Monitor accounting literature for new reporting requirements that potentially impact the Company
Prepare quarterly accounting and regulatory update presentations for the Company's Chief Accounting Officer, VP & Corporate Controller and Audit Committee
Work collaboratively with both internal and external auditors toward resolving findings and implementing process improvements
Participate and/or lead various Corporate Finance & Accounting projects to improve the overall efficiency, timeliness and accuracy of financial processes
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting
CPA required
7
years of experience in public accounting and/or in external financial reporting for a public company
Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse and multicultural environment
Customer-service mentality
Ability to perform in a fast paced environment
Experience with manufacturing companies preferred
