You will co-op with a world class IT organization that develops the latest technologies to deliver commercial and industrial property insurance and risk management services to FM Global's clients around the world. You will get first hand experience while earning college credits and getting paid!
FM Global's co-op opportunities are based at our corporate headquarters in Johnston, RI, which is part of the greater Providence area. With a large college-age population, Providence offers a vibrant arts and entertainment scene that includes local theatre and music, collegiate and minor league sporting events, and great restaurants in all price ranges.
Software Engineering Co-op
As a software engineering co-op at FM Global, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world problems and solutions with a team of talented developers. You will be responsible for writing code that will be used by
11 million customers
annually. Your projects may consist of developing or modifying products, augmenting the distribution network, integrating data between the website and plant production system, building optimization engines that drive our manufacturing and logistics processes, re-inventing and developing the quality platform for FM Global and much more. You will work with business partners to gather requirements, implement new functionality and drive continuous improvements.
Successful candidates should be prepared to show that they are:
- Enrolled in a Computer Science, IT or MIS degree program
- Have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Organized, detail oriented and analytical
- Strong team players that can work independently when needed
