Rail Coordinator

This position will be the primary SPFT Dublin mill contact for all rail related inquiries, complaints, issues, etc. as well as develop and implement consistent best practices for Rail Operations.
Develop and communicate Key Performance Indicators reporting internally and to service providers
Research, document and report all rail related issues that result in loss revenue
Research, document and report opportunities for increased efficiency and cost savings
Build rail routes, route codes and contract rates into Majiq
Work closely with NS, CSX and GC to increase proactive communication and reporting
Distribute weekly rail ordering updates and discrepancies
Distribute weekly rail tracking for key customers as designated by Sales and CS
Bill out railcars EBOL for shipping 24 hours 7 days a week
Document railcar inventory report for railcar flow and score carding purposes
Construct, maintain and distribute inbound railcar forecast to shipping leads
Research daily demurrage report for trends and to dispute discrepancies
Work with CS Manager and Shipping Manager to access railcar needs and opportunities
Research production trim to assess opportunities to switch orders to rail mode when cost effective
Research all rail related invoicing to assess accuracy prior to mgmt. approval
Access and determine best course of action for all railcar diversion requests
Report out any industry wide rail related delays that could impact SPFT business
Update all rail transit times in Majiq as needed
Research and correct rail carrier and route code inputting errors daily
Provide direction to Customer Service Coordinators by breaking down SPFT's strategy into executable rail usage goals and creating development plans
Assist Customer Service Coordinators in resolving railroad and equipment tracking issues
Back up Transportation / Operational Logistics Coordinators as required
Work closely with internal and external customers to balance supply and demand requirements at SPFT, third party and customer facilities
Actively participate in evaluation, selection and implementation of transportation and inventory management processes
Participate on OPEX teams as needed to drive operational improvements
Responsible for documentation and coordination of existing and new rail regulations in regards to tariffs, loading patterns and overall equipment management
Work with Customs and/or Customs Brokers in regards to railcar border crossings
Overall optimization of railcar inventory with respect to turn times, demurrage, transit and OTD
Associates Degree in Business related field preferred
Three to five years related experience in logistics; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Majiq system and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products - Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
