The AMETEK Electronic Components and Packaging (ECP) Division is a global leader in the development and production of a variety of microelectronic packages, solder and brazing preforms and harsh environment electrical and optical connectors and cable assemblies.
The Coining, Inc. Business Unit specializes in the development and production of high quality solder and brazing preforms. Coining, Inc. has Business locations in Montvale, NJ and Penang, Malaysia. The BU generated sales of $60 million in 2013 and has a diverse team of more than 190 associates.
The Coining, Inc. DVP Business Unit Manager reports to the Vice President and General Manager of the AMETEK ECP Division. The position's direct reports include Director - Sales and Marketing, Director - Finance, Director - Operations and the Director - NPD and Technology.
The position has full profit & loss responsibility for managing a BU with global reach which is both highly visible within the corporation and highly profitable. Similar to the rest of AMETEK, it has tangible near-term growth opportunities which should realistically drive a doubling of revenues over a five year time horizon.
The DVP BU Manager will be responsible to lead the business through the next business cycle, which is expected to be a period of significant organic and inorganic growth. Broadly speaking, near term deliverables include:
1. Successfully deliver the business's financial targets and operating plan, consistent with the corporate culture which emphasizes accountability and results. This includes meeting revenue, profitability, cost, and return-on-asset metrics, as well as added operating metrics and strategic growth objectives;
2. Successfully manage a proactive growth agenda. Provide the leadership to further develop the division sales, marketing, product, operations, and human capital strategies to support healthy growth with a focus on new markets and new product applications;
3. Ensure that the right people are in place to allow the business to expand to its full potential. This will include a thoughtful and objective evaluation of the existing leadership team, the development of team members, and enhancing the team, as appropriate;
4. Accountable for operations which ensure worker safety, compliance with environmental regulations and integration with the BU quality systems.
Position Requirements
Professional Qualifications
AMETEK seeks a proven, highly-motivated business leader, with the ability to lead a growing, highly visible BU and the future potential to assume greater responsibility. Specific experiences required or desired include:
1. An industry background with expertise in the development and production of high quality solder and brazing preforms along with the ability to grow adjacent products and markets;
2. At least 10 years of total business experience, including a minimum of three successful years in a full global profit & loss assignment of at least $30 million;
3. An undergraduate degree in engineering (highly desired) or business and an MBA (highly desired);
4. Successful experience growing a business organically, including the proven ability to commercialize new markets and develop new product applications;
5. A background with strength in operations and general financial knowledge for asset management, budgeting and profit plan attainment;
6. Experience in acquisition due diligence and post-merger integration (desired).
