Job Overview:
Apply knowledge of materials and engineering theory and methods to design, integrate, and improve manufacturing systems or related processes. May work to refine product designs to increase product manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
Performs a variety of complicated tasks; Works under general supervision; Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products and processes.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain processes, process controls, new materials evaluations, and automated equipment. Support of material review board (MRB) actions on incoming, internally manufactured, and assembly-related non-conforming product. Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve material or process related production issues and concerns. Support of Internal Design Reviews, Program Readiness Reviews, Design for Manufacturability, New Product Introduction (NPI) development and reviews. Preparation of written documentation for, material, processes, equipment, and process controls including SPC, FMEA, Problem Solving, etc. Design and conduct statistical Design of Experiments (DOE) to support engineering testing, root cause analyses, and corrective actions. Implement, use, or maintain Lean principles to drive daily production efficiencies ?Conduct capital equipment selection and justification. Be able to communicate complex technical issues both in writing and orally to multiple levels of management as well as to production operators.
Essential Job Functions:
Study, analyze and design methods, procedures, processes, layouts, flow, fixtures and tooling as relevant to meet job objective
Investigate, prepare and recommend manufacturing cost reduction and product improvement programs
Identify and recommend resolution of existing or imminent manufacturing problems
Participate in the review and evaluation of new product designs or design changes
As authorized, independently search out assignments, evaluate feasibility, predict results, conceive and develop plan for implementation and follow-up
Review and analyze design change requests initiated by manufacturing personnel to determine feasibility, validity, savings, effect on design and verify justification for change
Advise engineering of manufacturing capabilities
Evaluate, test and select facilities, equipment and materials required for manufacturing in conjunction with product supervision, purchasing and other groups
Perform a variety of cost analyses, e.g., cost estimates for quotations or make or buy decisions
May also perform any and all of the following:
Direct work activities of employees of lower classifications when assigned
Serve as project leader in activities requiring joint efforts by other groups
Develop manufacturing operating instructions
Develop procedures and train assemblers and operators in machine operations, process or assembly applications
Serve on, or assist, MRB
Coordinate with vendors and customers as required during course of assignment
Minimum
Qualifications:
__Experience__: 4
years of experience in the field or in a related area.
__Knowledge__: Thorough knowledge of modern manufacturing methods, techniques, equipment and processes as applied in the design, development and manufacture of electronic products; Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods; Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma tools desirable.

__Education__/__Certification__: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, heel straps, and shop coats.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
