_Duties and General Functions:_ This position supports the test and evaluation of naval aircraft at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division located at Patuxent River, Maryland. The electrical engineer applies electrical engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and/or evaluate military aircraft systems. The engineer reviews and prepares electronics/electrical engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. He/She, interfaces with system or program contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of engineering programs and projects. Tasking includes:
Provide comprehensive electrical systems and aircraft modification design, development, procurement, fabrication, and installation in support of Navy and DOD aircraft.
Design electrical system installations by evaluating numerous system requirements and analyzing other critical factors affecting system performance and cost.
Establish installation and customer requirements and develop design approaches by considering optimum technical and economic tradeoffs required to install avionics and electrical systems, subsystems, components, assemblies, parts and associated equipment into aircraft.
Develop the electrical design including the preparation of cable harness fabrication and installation drawings.
Analyze the equipment power loads requirements and power distribution to select appropriately sized connectors, components, conductors, and circuit protection devices.
_Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information:_ Applicants for this position must have a minimum of five years' experience with aircraft electrical systems. Other relevant experiences desired are:
A working knowledge in the area of aircraft electrical modification design
Knowledge of electrical connectors, components, wiring, and installation specifications commonly used in design of and modification of military aircraft
Familiarity with developing aircraft modification drawing packages and necessary drafting practices, specifications and processes
Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office and AutoCAD applications sufficient to create required project documentation
_Education Required_ _:_ A Bachelor's degree in an electronics or electrical engineering discipline from a school of engineering having a professional engineering curriculum which was accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET). A postgraduate degree is desirable.
_Clearance Requirements:_ Must be a US Citizen and capable of holding a Secret Clearance. Preference will be given to applicants that hold or have previously held a security clearance. All resumes must state citizenship and security clearance status.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
