This position offers the candidate the opportunity to provide subject matter expertise, in the area of Application of Dairy Technology, in the Meals Category within the Meals & Desserts BU. This candidate must possess knowledge of structure/functional relationships in dairy science for the application of liquid and spray dried cheese sauces, and working knowledge of spray drying processes. The candidate will lead internal and external multidisciplinary project teams to solve complex technical problems or to pursue business opportunities which require invention, the development or exploitation of technology in critical areas relevant to scope. The candidate will cultivate relationships external to Kraft with suppliers, academia, and industry for the identification of and investment in emerging technologies and IP strategy development. The candidate will also need collaborate across BU's with the ability to provide guidance to the development and execution of mutually aligned to action plans against such needs. The candidate will be an integral member of the technical community providing coaching and mentorship to the development of the BU's technical talent. Responsibilities:
The candidate will provide technical leadership & expertise to the Meal Category through the identification, development and execution of action plans with creative and innovative solutions to challenges related to applying dairy technology advancements into liquid and spray dried cheese sauces.
The candidate will provide insights on emerging technologies, as well as recommended investment areas for Meals in the arena of applied dairy technology through building and maintaining strong relationships with the Cheese BU, external vendors, academia, and industry.
The candidate will provide technical mentorship to developers on an as needed basis to further develop the technical talent and depth of talent within the Meals R&D team, as well as manufacturing facilities.
The candidate will properly document and communicate to peers, project summaries and key findings for the documentation and application to future projects.
Internal and external contacts:
The candidate will interact with peers and technical experts on a daily basis in reviewing business needs and then the development and implementation of action plans against those needs.
The candidate will interact with direct management on a bi- weekly and as needed basis for alignment on recommended action plans, as well as receiving coaching on career plans.
The candidate will interact with external vendors, academia, and industry on an as needed basis to maintain awareness of future trends and advancements in dairy technology.
Education:
BS/MS in Food Science, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering
Functional/Technical Expertise:
Minimum 10-15 years' Product Development in a CPG company (with Kraft or other Food & Beverage Company)
Minimum 10 - 15 years' Demonstrated success in the development and commercialization of products rooted in the fundamental challenges of applying dairy technologies into cheese sauce formulations.
Minimum 10 - 15 years' proven experience scaling up bench top formulation to pilot plant, as well as analysis and interpretation of data to make data based conclusions and recommendations.
Minimum 2 - 5 years' Experience with NEW product development (innovation) from concept to commercialization
