We are currently seeking a Furnace Refractory Design Engineer to join our team at our World Headquarters in Perrysburg, OH.
This position is responsible for providing furnace design and engineering technical support as a lead engineer on complex projects encompassing project planning, development, implementation, and modification of glass container facilities. Position researches and applies new technologies in corporate and global applications and provides significant technical assistance on corporate programs and initiatives. Design responsibilities include day to day engineering on glass melting furnace refractory projects. Excellent interpersonal and communication are skills required to establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members as well as internal and external corporate customers.
Principal Accountabilities:

Very strong knowledge of glass melting furnace refractory design and engineering fundamentals and design principles
Provides insight into current applicable engineering codes to provide safe and economical designs, as well as a working knowledge of special requirements and situations
Provides analysis, calculations, drawings, sketches and specifications for the refractory portions of projects
Responsibilities include complete scoping, cost estimates, analysis, design and construction package generation for the refractory part of furnace rebuilds at glass container facilities. Designs may include, but are not limited to, furnace, regenerator, refiner and forehearth refractories, as well as all other primary and ancillary systems within our facilities.
Provides significant support and input to the regional/global furnace design and engineering resources
Strong knowledge of drawing package creation and checking procedures
Guides other engineers and designers as required
Scope and Impact:
This position contributes to overall engineering and standards development while balancing the internal, external and corporate customer needs.
Position Requirements:
Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Refractory, Ceramic, Chemical and/or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.) institution, minimum requirement
Masters Degree in Refractory, Ceramic and/or Chemical Engineering, preferred

years related work experience in refractory engineering with an emphasis on glass melting furnaces with the proven ability to solve moderate to complex engineering problems related to existing or new designs and systems
Professional Engineering license or equivalent preferred (North America only)
Strong working knowledge of the following related software: Heat loss calculation software
General working knowledge of the following is preferred: AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise and Microsoft Office
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Furnace Design Discipline Leader. There are no positions reporting to the Engineer, but the candidate will lead other engineers or designers on projects.
Travel Requirements:
There will be some travel time required for training and project work, typically not to exceed 30%.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
