Description
Noramco, Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Control Systems Engineer. This position is located in Athens, Georgia.
Noramco, Inc. produces a variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients and is a major worldwide producer of medicinal analgesics, pharmaceutical intermediates and synthetic fine organic chemicals. It also produces monomers and polymers for pharmaceutical and medical devices.
The Control Systems Engineer performs complex technical work to develop and implement process control solutions, performs project and process support, executes limited project management activities, and provides support for one or more process control systems within a cGMP and DEA regulated environment.
The Control Systems Engineer will perform daily system administrative activities for one or more site process control systems. He/She will perform basic system support for one or more site process control systems as well as perform basic process control support for one or more site facilities. This individual will propose, develop and / or implement process control solutions utilizing knowledge regarding process equipment and chemical processes. The Control Systems Engineer will lead or assist in the execution of control system qualification and / or commissioning protocols. He/She will manage and implement limited scope automation projects. This individual will develop and execute implementation plans for limited scope automation projects. The Control Systems Engineer will develop and /or revise process control requirements and specifications. He/She will support implementation and /or design of limited to intermediate scope automation projects. This individual should have the ability to integrate safety, cGMP, environmental, quality and other regulatory requirements into all aspects of the job. The Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for the development and / or revision of control system guidelines, standards and procedures. He/She will define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. This individual will interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. The Control Systems Engineer will carry out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including FDA, EPA, OSHA and DEA as well as maintain compliance with all company and site policies and procedures.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline is required. A minimum of 4 years experience in chemical, biologics, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is required. A minimum of 2 years experience in control systems, including troubleshooting and support for implementation of capital projects, is required. Experience working in an FDA, DEA, or other regulated environment is preferred. Knowledge of batch manufacturing is required. Batch manufacturing within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred. S88 batch control knowledge is preferred. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations is required. The ability to write reports and business correspondence is required. The ability to communicate effectively verbally and written with vendors, team members, and internal customers is required. The ability to demonstrate competency in computerized systems, including Microsoft Office software, is required. Experience with Siemens PCS7, Emerson DeltaV or Emerson RS3 is preferred. Automation project management experience is preferred. The Ability to perform a variety of duties and to change tasks without loss of production is required. The ability to work independently and in a team environment is required. The ability to foster teamwork to achieve objectives while working cross-functionally is required.
This position will be based in Athens, Georgia and may require up to 10% domestic travel.
