Responsibilities
One of UTAS
os goals is to delight our customers by providing them with unrivaled quality performance. The Aerospace Customer Quality (ACQ) leader is responsible for leading a multiple-business unit team to achieve this goal for one or more OEM customers. The leadership role requires involvement throughout the value chain, from request for quote, design and development through production. The UTAS ACQ leader will accomplish this primarily by: Escape management: assure the BU
os are aware, real time, of customer escapes, and then assist the BU
os in driving fast containment, root cause analysis, corrective action plans and implementation, utilizing the Escape Management 8D Clinic process (or equivalent), and analytics, to reduce customer escapes and their impact. Customer scorecard: obtain and input customer scorecard data, and drivers, for quality performance, into the customer scorecard for the PLT. Work with BU

o ratings by developing and managing
oreturn to green
o action plans, incorporating both reactive and proactive actions. Customer meetings: Coordinate and lead monthly quality reviews with the customer, and all business unit quality engineers, and support other customer, and internal meetings as needed. Executive communication: prepare internal and external slide decks, speaker notes and white papers. Improvement events: assist BU
os as needed by leading kaizen or VSM events, conducting PFMEA'S
os, Red-X etc to improve quality performance to customers. Contractual requirements: Review contractual quality requests and work with UTAS business unit and plant site quality managers to support negotiation of acceptable quality requirements, and to develop a quality plan for implementation and auditing, of any unique requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor or Masters of Science in Engineering or equivalent field The successful candidate will: Have technical knowledge of aerospace products and the quality function Have a minimum of 6-10 years in engineering, quality or related field Lead a multi-business unit and cross functional team Analyze data and determine and drive concrete action plans Drive implementation to produce results and exceed customer expectations Develop effective UTC presentations, and interact with executive management and external customers effectively Achieve certified ACE associate Preferably be a certified ASQ certified quality engineer or quality manager Be proficient in Window based applications.
