Yahoo currently has a Software Development Engineer, Applications position available at our office in Sunnyvale, CA. Duties: Working on projects of diverse scope and complexity, design, build, implement, modify, unit/functional test, debug and deploy applications for customer or partner facing products or internal users. Primary focus is to develop application logic and/or user interface and ensure that the user experience is accessible, scalable, customizable, internationalized and also works across multiple browsers, platforms and devices. Collaborates in defining APIs/web services provided by the systems developers in order to integrate multiple platforms and technology components into the application. Build Rich and Personalized Creative Platform using the latest technology including YUI, HTML5, CSS, Ajax and jQuery. Work with highly talented group of engineer in Sunnyvale, California in a start up like environment, design, and develop an innovative platform for Creative. Work closely with a small development team including developer, product manager, release engineer and operations for short release cycle. Having ability to extend the domain from UI development to the entire application development including backend development.
Requirements: Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field and 2 years of experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation.
Education and/or experience must include:
1. Web Application development and front-end engineering
2. Front-end engineering skills including JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, HTML5
3. JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g. YUI, jQuery)
4. Back-end experience with Java, REST
5. XML, JSON
6. Agile development environment experience, including TDD, BDD
7. Experience with Maven, Ant, CVS or SVN
8. Experience with node.js, html, backbone, or YUI 3.0
9. Hands on experience with cross browser support
10. Web Technologies: PHP, MYSQL, HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, AJAX, REST, XML, JSON
11. Frameworks/Tools: jQuery, backbonejs, Template Engines, extJS, Sencha Touch, Symfony, Codeigniter, Maven, Ant, Perforce
12. Database: MySQL, SQLITE, Oracle
13. Programming: C, Java, Shell scripting
14. Software Development: UML, AGILE, Atlassian Jira, Bugzilla, Wikipedia
