Department Description
The School of Information and Library Science (SILS) seeks to advance the profession and practice of librarianship and information science; to prepare students for careers in the field of information and library science; and to make significant contributions to the study of information. Faculty members further these goals by teaching, advising, publishing research and scholarly works and by service to the school, university, state, and professional communities.
Position Description
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and implement a comprehensive communications program for the School. This program will address both external and internal communication; and will include public relations, marketing communications, and media relations using electronic (Web-based), print and in-person tools. The Coordinator reports to the Dean of SILS and works closely with School faculty and staff, as well as other University Communications departments and professionals.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communication with coursework/minor in Information/Library Science or BSIS/BSLS with coursework/minor in Public Relations or Marketing; four (4) or more years professional experience in communications. A comprehensive portfolio of successful positions and projects, including demonstrated skills in developing and producing both print and electronic communications, especially Web-based; experience working in an academic organization, preferably college or university; experience with libraries and/or other information agencies, and communications to and from the information and library science communities and/or experience in business, nonprofit and/or government organizations.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
