Project Description:
The Research Scientist within Biologics Process Development upstream group will participate in the development and optimization of upstream processes for production of biologics at preclinical and different clinical stages. The successful candidate will participate in the execution of bench-scale experiments using shake flasks and lab bioreactors to improve cell culture processes. Under general direction, the position requires participation in the design and execution of experiments, interfacing mainly with other upstream and occasionally with downstream and analytical personnel to achieve process development objectives. A successful candidate will work effectively in a cross-functional process development team and also be able to work independently to accomplish overall project goals.
Requirements/Education
Candidates must have a BS or MS degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline with 0-4 years of work experience. Hands-on experience with cell culture or microorganisms in a laboratory environment is desired. Candidates must possess good organizational skills and strong attention to details, excellent experimental/troubleshooting aptitude, and be self-motivated. The candidate should also possess good oral communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment. Some of weekend work may be required.
