Job Description
Eaton, located in Cleveland, TN, has an immediate opening for a Welder. The primary purpose of this position is to weld and/or rivet parts according to prescribed methods and specifications, using spot welder, riveting and stud insertion equipment.
Essential Functions include:
A. Set up resistance welder to include selecting correct tips, posts, arms, tooling, welder control settings, air pressure, etc. to perform operations.
B. Work to drawing specifications.
C. Perform inspection of parts and check quality of welds using a variety of measuring tools.
D. Perform rework operations as required.
E. Use Kanban system to assure availability of parts.
F. Report scrap.
G. Read orders and drawings to determine procedures.
H. Wear all safety equipment and observe all hygiene requirements as specified and directed.
I. Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly manner and maintain5S
check sheet.
J. Train new employees.
K. Work with various groups of employees in team based environment.
L. Cross-train in various areas of the Welding Department.
M. Work overtime as necessary.
N. Comply with all applicable ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 procedures. Possess a working knowledge of relevant ISO procedures and work instructions as well as Eaton's MESH Program.
O. Know and follow established job specific and site wide health and safety procedures and rules.
P. Bring health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management's attention or correct those where possible.
Q. Actively participate in accident, injury and illness prevention activities: Job Safety Analysis and safe working procedures; identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions; accident, near-miss accident or potential hazard investigations.
R. Keep other employees informed of health and safety practices and activities by actively observing fellow employee work practices and incorporating safety whenever possible.
S. Maintain health and safety equipment in good working order.
T. Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency, based on training received.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Must have authorization to work in the US without company sponsorship.
Overtime may be required, including some Saturdays.
High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution required.
Previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Drug test and background check required.
