Yahoo currently has a Software Development Engineer, Systems, Senior position available at our office in Sunnyvale, CA. Duties: Work on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires in depth evaluation of various factors which may be difficult to define, design, build, implement, modify, test, debug and deploy software systems, large-scale infrastructure platforms and network services that are the foundation of multiple Yahoo properties and applications. Responsible for performance, reliability, availability, scalability and security. Services are delivered to applications through standard and proprietary protocols and behavior may be customized via complete APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and/or web services. Responsible for the backend and serving systems behind popular yahoo products like news, finance, sports.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field followed by 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field and 6 years of experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation.
Experience must include:
1. Software Engineering processes, tools, methods, test development and/or support;
2. Object-oriented programming;
3. Software architecture;
4. Java, JavaScript;
5. SubVersion, Maven, Continuous Integration;
6. Development practices, object oriented and service oriented architecture, and design patterns;
7. N-Tier enterprise architecture experience;
8. Web services development background (REST, SOAP, WS-I);
9. Scalable high-performance server based systems.
Any suitable combination of training, education, or experience is acceptable.
