Yahoo currently has a Software Development Engineer, Systems, Senior position available at our office in Sunnyvale, CA. Duties: Work on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires in depth evaluation of various factors which may be difficult to define, design, build, implement, modify, test, debug and deploy software systems, large-scale infrastructure platforms and network services that are the foundation of multiple Yahoo properties and applications. Responsible for performance, reliability, availability, scalability and security. Services are delivered to applications through standard and proprietary protocols and behavior may be customized via complete APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and/or web services. Help build the world's most advanced online media sales & campaign management systems, analytics products with advanced visualization, cross-device application for report visualization and building ads . Develop UI using OO Javascript, Javascript frameworks, HTML, CSS and any server side technology like NodeJS / PHP / Java and to build UI applications for the Yahoo online media business. Contribute to the design, development and implementation of the next generation of ad products. Work on systems as well as work with various cross-functional teams to participate in entire life-cycle of the products. Understand the business requirements, translate them into design and implementation approaches, and rapidly drive convergence towards the best solution. Engineer the full product lifecycle, from concepts, design through to maintenance, managing prioritization and trade-offs across functional domains. Develop and maintain high quality code base, consistently delivering challenging, stable, and maintainable projects on schedule.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field followed by 6 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation.
Experience must include:
1. Data structures, programming languages, operating systems, software engineering, and databases
2. Experience with Object Oriented JavaScript, CSS, and DHTML
3. Experience with PHP or NodeJS or Java
4. YUI widget gallery or Jquery gallery or open source javascript framework
5. Cross browser issues, internet security, localization, authentication/authorization systems
6. Object oriented design and design patterns
7. Debugging and testing skills
8. Advertisement management systems
9. Experience with building large scale, distributed, highly scalable and highly available internet enabled enterprise server systems
