The Director of College Information Systems position is responsible for the overall operations of the College Information Systems (CIS), including database management, application security, related online services and related third-party software applications. This position provides assistance to the Chief Information Officer and all college staff who support CIS activities.
The Director of College Information Systems position is responsible for strategic planning, implementation and operational support of college information systems including software development and maintenance projects and provides professional staff support to the Chief Information Officer. Assist the College in achieving its vision and mission. Customer focus, college services, and a willingness to assist as needed are expectations for all employees.
Required Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field and four (4) years of experience in area of assignment, including two (2) years of supervisory experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience in Internet protocols, systems analysis and design, programming languages & development tools.
- Knowledge in fundamentals of systems analysis, functional configuration and testing.
- Knowledge of the Ellucian Colleague System.
- Knowledge of general processes and guidelines within specific departments (i.e. general accounting principles).
- Ability to manage a team of professionals and its projects.
- Ability to communicate effective, gain credibility and develop productive working relationships with employees at all levels.
- Ability to approach situations with energy and enthusiasm.
- Demonstrated personal integrity, problem solving ability as well as the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Supervisory and leadership skills.
- Customer service skills with ability to listen, understand, interpret and anticipate customer's needs.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and reliably to ensure activities are completed within time and budget. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
