About the General Motors System Deployment Services Team:
GM is enabling the IT transformation by driving latest technology trends into manufacturing plants around the globe. The IT System Deployment team plays a key role by deploying a common suite of GM IT Systems as a part of new product introductions and stand alone deployments. This team also drives continuous improvement initiatives and helps automate deployment processes by implementing innovative approaches using the latest methods and technologies.
About the role:
The GM IT Associate II IT Data Engineer ensures GM Common systems are deployed as required in support of new product introductions and new system implementations as required. The GM IT Associate II IT Data Engineer will provide system deployment technical and process expertise and leadership across all deployment activities to ensure utilization of appropriate methodologies, processes and tools. The Associate II IT Data Engineer will execute deployment projects to the highest standards in overall delivery per requirements.

Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience/training
Experience in deploying IT Manufacturing Real Time and Non Real Time Plant Floor Systems and debugging applications as required.
Strong process orientation in deploying systems using standardized work to optimize delivery and reduce deployment cost and risk.
Ability to travel (25%)
Good oral and written communication skills. Able to take highly technical discussions to the appropriate level to foster proper understanding to drive decisions and forward progress
Strong logical / analytical thinker. Ability to reason and think logically, apply judgment, solve complex problems, and implement solutions
Attention to detail. Exceptional work ethic with the ability to multi-task under limited supervision
Familiar with business processes and how underlying systems and technologies enable processes
Preferred
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience in IT systems delivery in a manufacturing environment with implementation experience across full lifecycle of IT system delivery
Experience with Manufacturing Plant Floor technologies, and the application of those technologies to key manufacturing environments: General Assembly / Body / Paint Shop / Stamping / Powertrain
Experience with Manufacturing Technologies and Tools: GEIP Proficy, Cimplicity, OPC, Kepware, Apriso Flexnet, RSLinx, PLC Programming: Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Robotic Controllers
Knowledge of manufacturing tools and technologies (e.g., SCADA, Proficy, Cimplicity, etc.)
Familiar with manufacturing processes and systems
Support GM IT launch implementation initiatives
Participate in functional area plant meetings and related functions to represent IT project management and to assist in meeting launch IT performance goals.
Learn technical concepts and practices quickly
Communicate issues to proper parties within affected departments
Maintain good working relationships with peers, hourly, union, management, supplier community and interfaces with necessary support functions inside and outside of the plant
Ability to multitask in a highly flexible environment
Monitor planning timetables and project schedules
Exercise safe work practices as the highest priority and implements objectives for health/safety, and housekeeping
