Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a Johnson & Johnson Company, is recruiting for a highly motivated and skilled Senior Scientist in the Data Sciences team within Research & Development IT, focusing on data analysis, big data techniques, bioinformatics and integrative analysis. This position is located in Spring House, PA and may require up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities of this position include: Work with colleagues in research and informatics to develop, implement, and apply state-of-the art scientific algorithms including big data methods & technologies for R&D; teams; Integrate pan-omics and other data from internal and external sources. Expand in-house knowledge bases and mine data to initiate or assess new discovery initiatives; Develop strong partnerships with informaticists and statisticians in other R&D; IT teams and Janssen organizations to deliver cutting-edge computational and analysis methods and statistical frameworks for project applications; Integrate complex, high-dimensional data and analyze data sets using high performance computing and advanced algorithms as required; Collaborate with external academics, research consortia, business partners and CROs; Contribute to intellectual property fillings and publish new scientific findings; Work under some supervision with a high level of autonomy; Member of project teams, elicit needs, and act as a trusted primary business and scientific partner.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, System Biology or a related discipline is required. A minimum of 3 years of drug discovery experience is required. Experience with analyzing omics, epigenetics and NGS data is preferred. Experience with data collection, processing, integration and meta-analysis is required. Strong working knowledge of bioinformatics, statistics and data mining tools and algorithms is preferred. Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning and statistical analysis are required. Proficiency with R and Perl programming is preferred. Experience with high performance parallel computing and cloud computing is preferred. Strong scientific publication is preferred. Excellent oral/written communication skills and collaboration skills are required
