PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain availability, management, monitoring, security, and performance tuning of a large Microsoft SQL Server database environment.
Design, review, deploy and migrate SQL Server infrastructure, databases, schemas, and code into production.
Identify process improvements and challenge existing legacy processes.
Assist in the research, testing and deployment of new SQL Server features and technologies.
Design, review, build, deploy, and automate global solutions that follow industry best practices and are scalable to support rapid expansion within our growing business.
Work in a global team to support international operations and large multi-million dollar projects.
Respond quickly and effectively to production SQL Server environment issues and take responsibility for seeing those issues through to resolution.
Learn new technologies and methodologies to support our business.
Provide quality customer service through excellent communication, feedback, and follow-through.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems preferred.
A combination of experience and education can be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
2 years of SQL Server experience required for Mid-level position, 4 years for SR position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Self-motivated, dedicated, independent, and possesses ability to learn quickly.
Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
Solid foundation in SQL Server database administration (installation, backup, restores, security, etc.)
Thorough understanding of indexes, optimization, and performance monitoring and tuning
Hands-on experience using DMVs for troubleshooting and collecting information about SQL Server.
Experience designing or supporting multiple high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS skills a plus.
Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, NoSQL and PowerShell skills are a plus.
