Position
Summary:
Two positions available at Singing River Hospital. One on first shift and one on second shift.
Executes company and facility environmental services programs and procedures by training, supervising and motivating the environmental services personnel to ensure all tasks are completed and schedules are met.
Responsibilities
Some of the responsibilities of the Supervisor are as follows:
1. Perform all environmental services related tasks demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees, client staff and customers.
2. Work closely with and motivate environmental services staff to ensure work is performed properly and personnel are following schedules (duty lists).
3. Recommend work schedules (duty lists) for all assigned areas to ensure optimal efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
4. Conduct training sessions with environmental services personnel regularly and, as assigned, by the Account Operations Manager.
5. Monitor and inspect equipment daily to ensure it is maintained in a clean condition and in good repair.
6. Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the Assistant Account Operations Manager. Perform administrative functions as needed and requested.
7. Use TRAKKAR to prepare daily inspection reports addressing activities, projects and Quality Management assignments.
8. Maintain good public relations with all patients, residents and staff personnel. Participate in client activities and special events.
9. Track supply inventory, report supply usage and order needed supplies.
10. Ensure that the cleaning and linen staff maintains a high standard of personal appearance.
11. Observe cleaning and maintenance needs throughout hospital and assign projects using TRAKKAR .
12. Interview and recommend applicants for positions in the department. Counsel employees and recommend termination when necessary.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position include:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Must pass physical examination required by client
3. A demonstrated knowledge of all areas of position in order to train and direct staff.
4. A demonstrated ability in verbal and written communication.
5. A minimum one (1) year of experience in a lead or equivalent position.
6. A demonstrated ability to lead personnel.
7. Must provide proof of legal status to work.
Interactions
The Supervisor is in a position to interact with many departments and outside personnel.
The Supervisor:
1. Works regularly around patients within the facility.
2. Interacts regularly with Environmental Services employees under their direct supervision.
3. May interact with visitors in facility.
4. Interacts regularly with facility staff and personnel.
