FULL-TIME STAFF ASSISTANT: (37.5 hours per week) Monday - Thursday 10:30AM - 6:30PM and Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM. This position may require some Saturdays and late evenings during peak enrollment periods for the Fall and Spring semesters. The potential candidate will be working on the Haverhill Campus for the Financial Aid Office in the One Stop and will work for the other members of the One Stop and the Financial Aid team in Haverhill. (MCCC/MTA Unit Position) Anticipated start date mid-September 2014.
Provide outstanding customer service to students, staff and faculty in person, on the phone and by email. Perform data entry, filing, and processing for Financial Aid including scanning and indexing all forms. Guide students through the financial aid process, completing all the necessary forms while checking for accuracy and completeness and referring students to the Financial Aid Counselor or the Senior Financial Aid Counselors in Haverhill and Lawrence as needed. Review and follow up with students as needed and help perform the daily functions of the Financial Aid Office. Performs various administrative tasks associated with assigned projects for the Financial Aid Office.
Qualifications:
Bachelor-s Degree required and one year of financial aid experience preferred. Must be self-motivated; have the ability to problem solve; be able to communicate effectively with students, staff and the community, and have a commitment to customer service. In addition, the applicant must be able to work in fast paced team environment, have the ability to handle several assignments simultaneously, and have strong time management skills. Financial Aid knowledge is not a requirement but preferred; all training will be provided. Experience working at a Community College or a One Stop Enrollment Services setting is preferred.
