General Dynamics IT has an opening for an Applications Systems Analyst / Programmer (Intermediate) in Bay St. Louis, MS.
Must be eligible for a DOD Secret Security Clearance. Active DOD Secret Security clearance preferred.
Essential Functions &
Responsibilities:
Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.
Prepares detailed specifications for programs.
Designs, codes, tests, debug documents and maintain programs.
May be called on to work on special graphics application programs such as, but not limited to; CAD, CAD/CV, or GIS.
Works on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities including the installation of enhancements, security features, and analytical tools, but requires instruction and guidance in other phases.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study which provides substantial knowledge useful in managing large, complex AIS projects, is closely related to the work to be automated, and/or in a computer science, information system, a physical science, engineering or a mathematics-intensive discipline, or an applicable training certificate from an accredited training institution.
Experience Requirements:
Two years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in performing systems analysis, development, and implementation of business, mathematical, engineering or scientific settings using a variety of information technology resources. Has experience with current technologies and, where required for the task, emerging technologies.
Specialized Skill Sets:
At least two years project experience with a wide range of high level programming languages such as C, C++, FORTRAN, Ada, JAVA, Python or PERL as required.
Knowledge of content management systems; portal engines; geo databases; relational databases, search engine technology, Agile Software development.
Experience with Application Lifecycle Management concepts and tools desired. Examples are: Team Foundation Server, Jenkins, Atlassian Suite, Collabnet.
Experience with Java, Ant or Maven, and web application development required.
Experience with code repository tools such as Subversion or Git required.
Experience with deploying applications across various DevOps environments desired.
Experience with various Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) such as: Operating System, Web Server, Application Development, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
