The Dietary Supervisor Cook is responsible for preparing residents' meals according to planned menus that meet the dietary requirements for all residents. He/She assures the cleanliness, safety, organization and maintenance of the kitchen, so that it is in full compliance with the standards and regulations of: The Department of Health; state and federal licensing, regulations & mandates; and OSHA. The Dietary Supervisor Cook also manages the dietary aide & kitchen staff. The Dietary Supervisor Cook orders food and supplies, and ensures proper, safe storage of such foods.
The ideal candidate has a High School diploma/GED with additional education/training in food service management. At least one year prior experience in management or supervision in a food service setting, health care food service preferred.
The following is a representative list of duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
-- Assures policies, procedures, and practices in meal service and kitchen operation meet and comply with the federal and state regulations, OSHA, and Department of Health. Immediately implement corrective action should any violation occur
-- Prepare meals according to menus ensuring all meals meet the dietary requirements of each resident
-- Train, supervise, and schedule dietary & kitchen staff
-- Train all staff on emergency dining procedures
-- Order food and supplies to maintain proper inventory & storage of crockery, cutlery, and accessories
-- Maintain daily temperature logs
-- Serve food at proper temperatures
-- Develop menus and make suggestions for new recipes and menu ideas. Maintain a recipe file
-- Ensure food is prepared and served to accommodate special diets, and food is served according to the recommended portion control
-- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and its equipment
-- Ensure safety in the operation of the kitchen and dining room, and immediately report hazards or faulty equipment to the Executive Director
-- Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with staff to facilitate the meal service function and dietary needs of residents are met
-- Assist in serving meals as needed
-- Supervise the dietary aide/kitchen staff, and provide direction
-- Assist in the planning and preparation of refreshments for special events and functions
-- Immediately report any employee injury to the Executive Director/Human Resources
-- Remain up-to-date on all required state and company certifications, including ServSafe
-- Attend Resident Council meetings
-- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the delivery of quality meal service program at the facilityEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
