General Description
:
The Drafting Technician supports Engineers in the design and documentation of products using CAD system by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams and generating Engineering Change Orders.
Essential Job Functions:
Support engineers through the initiation of Change Orders (CO) and the compilation of supporting documentation.
Perform preliminary calculations, fit analysis and research part specifications to support design development.
Generate routings and BOM's in MAPICS
Design components and assemblies
Apply standardized drafting procedures, formats and terminology to communicate design details.
Compose documents and technical literature using MS Word, MS Excel, or InDesign
Program blank component parts for turret and laser.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Specifications:
SolidWorks, MS Office and general computer skills required.
Adobe Design Suite and MAPICS 400 experience desirable.
Strong communication and team skills.
Ability to multi-task across multiple projects.
Must be familiar with drafting standards, symbols, terminology and materials.
CNC Programming experience desirable.
