Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Mechanic

The City of Oshkosh is accepting applications for a full-tie Maintenance Mechanic at our Wastewater Treatment Plant. This position performs mechanical repair in the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Lift Stations, and is responsible for inspection, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical machinery and related equipment. This position may coordinate work with other maintenance personnel, Wastewater Treatment Plant employees or temporary staff as assigned. Works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, can also receive direction from: Wastewater Plant Operations Supervisor, Wastewater Superintendent, and Utilities Superintendent. Requirements include: high school diploma or equivalent; at least 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance work involving the rebuilding of pumps, motors, gear boxes, transmissions and related equipment; drivers license; previous experience in the water or wastewater fields preferred. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
