External Job Responsibilities
The Project/Process Manager is an expert level position that will utilize a solid understanding of project management and will be expected to manage multiple projects that include scope development, technical design, creating project estimates & schedules, and implementation. This person will work with CO leadership to create and promote technical strategies, provide high level consulting to peers, and provide training and mentoring to other staff. The successful candidate will lead various process improvement and change management efforts using sound analytical techniques and experience to generate improvement ideas.
oLead a team of Specialists and other support staff. Provide coaching, counseling, training and development to team members as required. To routinely and regularly monitor performance, reinforce expectations, evaluate and communicate performance levels to individual team members and adjust plans and priorities to meet goals as necessary.
oEstablish performance management and development plans annually with each team member and strive for continuous improvement. Monitor performance, reinforce expectations, and evaluate and communicate performance levels to individual team members.
oLead process and system improvement projects to enhance the outage management system to ensure business processes are followed
oProvides project administration leadership.
oEvaluates emergent technologies for applicability to System Operations systems.
oProvides technical leadership in the resolution of complex emergent issues.
oMakes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and reflective of a high level of technical knowledge in outage management related systems.
oLeads cross functional teams in the execution of projects and resolution of technical problems.
oDevelops processes and procedures for application in the business unit.
oMakes periodic presentations to various business units on industry and technology status and develops and presents training material as needed.
oEnsures effective management of project contracts.
oMonitors and manages key business metrics and cost controls to achieve operational and budgetary goals.
Requirements:
Education/Experience Requirements
Candidates must possess a bachelor degree in engineering or business management.
A minimum of 5 years project management experience is required. Experience working with Outage Management and related systems required for operation of the electric distribution system is preferred.
The successful candidate should possess strong leadership abilities including coaching, team building, mentoring, conflict management, and performance planning/feedback skills and must be effective in building rapport with the team and customers. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast face and ambiguous environment are required. Candidates must be able to think strategically, conceptually, analytically, and creatively and must possess highly developed interpersonal skills.
Candidates must also possess proven project management, planning and organizing, budgeting and business acumen skills; as well as problem solving, leadership and decision-making abilities. In addition, the candidate must have a demonstrated track record of effectively communicating and functioning in diverse environments including those in political, union, environmental and regulatory agendas.
