Federal Full-Time, Permanent This position is located in the IT Applications Department of the National Museum of the American Indian, located at the Cultural Resources Center in Suitland, MD. The position serves as the CIS Applications Administrator/Analyst for the NMAI-Collections Information System (NMAI-CIS), KE EMu, specifically in regard to the technical development, monitoring, and maintenance of the NMAI-CIS and its interoperability with other systems. Serves as the Applications Administrator/Analyst for the NMAI-Collections Information System (NMAI-CIS) with responsibility for its technical development, monitoring, maintenance, and its interoperability with other systems. This responsibility includes budget planning and overseeing support contracts.
Uses relational and/or object-relational database applications in the UNIX and Windows operating system environments (SQL and TEXQL) to run reporting queries, communicate with the system Vendor and other technical administrators, and perform daily system monitoring (e.g., database growth, system usage, back-ups).
Analyzes emerging web-based technologies for future application as a means to ingest and extract collections data into and from the NMAI-CIS.
Develops procedures to secure and protect sensitive information and ensures these procedures are implemented with respect to access, authority to modify, and ability/authority to operate. Responsible for the ongoing technical implementation of CIS security procedures.
Advises and assists NMAI-CIS users, collaborates with OCIO staff, oversees project team efforts, interacts with contractor staff, etc.

Knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating system environments (SQL and TEXQL).

Knowledge of information systems security protocols.
Ability to communicate technical issues to personnel with varying degrees of IT literacy.

Experience: You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position specialized experience is defined as experience administering an information system/database for a museum or cultural organization, applying knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems, and using web-based technology to plan for future data needs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
