_Roles/
Responsibilities:_
Performs painting work on a variety of light and heavy equipment, such as tactical wheeled, track, and artillery equipment, by any of the accepted methods of the trade using painting materials that ensure surfaces have a smooth textured appearance and meets thickness and level requirements.
Prepares surfaces, both interior and exterior of equipment and vehicles; mixes and applies paints of all compositions.
Maintains paint booth and sets up, adjusts and performs minor maintenance on painting equipment.
Use authorized procedures in the preparation, application, and disposal of chemical Agent Resistance Coating (CARC) paint. Ability to utilize safety equipment designed for handling and spraying CARC paint and assist tool room attendants in maintaining bench stock of paint and related supplies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
_Requirements:_
High School graduate or equivalent.
Two years painting experience of various tactical wheeled, track and artillery equipment.
Must possess and continuously maintain a current driver's license.
Work requires standing, walking, climbing, bending, occasionally working in cramped or awkward positions.
Frequently lifts equipment weighing 25 pounds. Occasionally assists lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
Dirt, dust and grease are always present. Frequent exposure to chemicals that may burn and irritate skin if proper personal protective equipment is not used.
May be required to wear a respirator and to pass the required physical.
May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, week-ends and holidays.
Must be willing to work overtime as required and cross train as directed.
Must be able to pass a Pre-employment drug test and a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) for computer access.
