Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our NAR Fabric Care Product Approval organization.
Day to Day (what a typical day or week looks like in this role)
Today, you might be hands on developing or troubleshooting test hardware or software in the laboratory. Tomorrow, you may be leveraging a supplier to run a prescribed test suite. Another day you may be strategizing a new product or test method. Generally, you'll be managing multiple projects at once, and contributing to a high paced, experienced team.
What You Will Do
Design, develop, plan, and/or coordinate test programs for the approval of electrical components or systems, taking into account customers, product performance, cost and quality requirements
Use design strategy to influence, guide, and/or continuously improve the development process of electronic or electromechanical control designs
Participate in cross-functional, cross regional projects with the assistance of various team members
Opportunity to direct and/or schedule technical staff
Analyze, evaluate, create and document data, standards and systems. Identify, analyze and solve problems

Qualifications
What You Need To Succeed
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
An understanding of microcomputer architectures to achieve efficient hardware/software test solutions
An understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical control systems
Minimum 5 to 8 years experience in appropriate field
Computer skills related to specific needs of position (Data Acquisition techniques)
Good communication and presentation skills
Ability to travel and meet with other Whirlpool or supplier operations
Clear vision to observe action of products/processes and use of computer/communication system
This position requires execution of Whirlpool's Non-Disclosure and Non-Competition Agreement.
