Cornerstone Chemical Company is a leading producer of chemical intermediates that are used in downstream specialty chemical manufacturing. Our Fortier Manufacturing Complex is an 800-acre, continuous process facility located just outside of New Orleans on the Mississippi River, employing more than 450 people. The Fortier Manufacturing Complex manufactures high-quality products, including acrylonitrile, melamine, urea and sulfuric acid, which are shipped around the globe. Our products are used in a variety of everyday applications, including recreational items, automobiles, homes and clothing. We currently have the following two positions available within our chemical manufacturing facility in Waggaman, Louisiana:
Instrument/Electrical Technician
As our Instrument/Electrical Technician, you would install, troubleshoot, repair (and replace, when necessary), and perform preventative maintenance services on all electrical and instrumentation equipment. Experience with 4-20 mA instrumentation, 3-phase motors and controls, transformers, control panels and wiring would serve you well in this role. To qualify, you should be at the journeyman level of your career with at least 5 years experience in the troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems within an industrial environment. A high school degree or GED, plus some formal I&E training are required. In lieu of experience, candidates with NCCER/NCCER Plus (The National Center for Construction Education and Research) credentials will be considered. Finally, you must have the ability to obtain a TWIC card.
Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
As our Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you would complete onsite repairs and respond to equipment failures as required. You would also install, maintain, and repair rotating and/or reciprocating mechanical equipment, and perform routine preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and life cycle. To qualify, you must be at the journeyman level of your career with at least 5 years experience in the repair of industrial equipment, such as pumps, compressors, diesel equipment, turbines, etc. A high school diploma or GED is required. In lieu of experience, some consideration will be given to candidates who possess NCCER/NCCER Plus credentials, a technical diploma, or an Associates degree in a maintenance-related field. Non-journeyman-level candidates who possess experience working on comparable heavy machinery will also be considered.
