Scope of Position:
As part of a project team, provides controls leadership in the installation and startup of Corning Optical Communications manufacturing equipment and associated ancillary systems, including plant facilities. Assists in the design upgrades and industrialization of developmental systems, and new or modified process equipment. Responsible for creating or modifying existing documentation to complete drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, and machine specs of the COC production equipment. May also direct maintenance and outside contract personnel in the construction, testing, installation, and debugging of the equipment systems.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & DUTIES:
Works closely with other project team members and the Production Operation receivers to understand design requirements and constraints.
Assists in the development of schedules and the mechanical and electrical installation checklists.
Accurately estimates timeframe to complete project work, then completes work to agreed-to timeline.
Works closely with IT, mechanical, and process engineers to fully understand the control system functionality and requirements.
Is responsible for understanding the system analog and digital I/O requirements, control sequence logic, fail safe states and recovery sequences.
Provides training, as required, on new equipment installations to the plant receiving organizations.
Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps.
Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects.
Trouble shoots process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and implements corrective action.
Assures quality and repeatability of processes and products.
Assures safety of operators and equipment and complies with safety and environmental regulations.
Develops SME knowledge of process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.
Travel Requirements:
Travel to the project deployment site would be required.
Required Education:
B.S. Electrical Engineering

Experience:
3
years equipment / controls experience.
Required Skills:
Experience integrating field devices for flow control, material handling and metering, motion control, temperature control, and associated safety systems into an overall controls package enabling a fully-functional equipment platform.
Works well in a team environment.
Acts and makes decisions in the best interest of the project team.
Complies with all policies and procedures of the project team.
Implements or designs equipment and facilities to prevent safety or environmental incidences.
Assures safety procedures, such as Lock Out Tag Out, are followed at all times.
Understands regulations applicable to area of expertise and works to ensure compliance (NEC, NFPA, etc)
Seeks to identify and correct potential safety or environmental issues before they occur.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
